Define health education

A

The process by which people are given information to enable them to exercise a greater degree of control over their own behaviour

A

A state of being free from chronic mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancers, birth defects (cleft lip), tooth decay and other diseases that can affect the oral cavity

  1. Personal health can be affected :Pain and discomfort due to infection
  2. Tooth function affected: Difficulty eating and poor diet
  3. Social life affected: Poor appearance can decrease confidence
  4. General health may be for due to bad diet, nutrition etc
  5. Can increase the number of GP and hospital visits you need to have
  6. Can have economic effects on the individual ie they may need to take e days of work etc
