prevents RF if treated in first 9 days of illness

What is the treatment of GAS pharyngitis?

A

Pen VK PO for 10 d

Amox tastes better

Pen allergic - erythro, clarithro, azithro

clinda can eradicate chronic carrier
No longer contagious - 24 hours post start of Abx

A

Polymicrobial - Staph aureu,strep species and anaerobes

RX- Cetrioaxone and ciproflox (anaerobes) (+/_ Vanco if dont’ respond)
