Give the 3 forms of immortality.

  2. Memory (everybody survives in people’s memory)
  3. Legacy (your work and accomplishments are remembered through time (e.g. Shakespeare)
14
Q

What is dualism?

A

Dualism is the belief that there is both a soul (mind) and a body. It considers the body as a shell/vessel from which the soul can continue after death. These are separate entities but still connected; the soul is only able to leave the body after death.

15
Q

What is materialism?

A

The opposite of dualism, materialism is the belief that the soul and body are one and the same - completely inseparable. It is not possible for the soul to continue after death as we need organs, so if the body dies so must the soul.
