A

war -unprecedented horrors of war cause to make a list of human rights to protect civilians e.g. holocaust
WW1 -> league of nations => United Nations

what is limitation of hr?

A
  • identifying moral rights that encompass what all cultural groups regard as consistent with their own morality can be a difficult exercise
  • does not mean it is law
  • problems relating to civil/political, economic, social and culture
  • devision of universal declaration of human rights in 2 divisions

what is International Human rights Law?

A

‘soft law’ - it provides normative guidance but in itself has weak enforcement at an international level
