What is the rate of HITS with heparin?

Diagnosed through combination of clinical and laboratory factors
4-5 intermediate probability
6-8 high probability
What is the 4T score for HITS?
Thrombocytopenia (fall and and nadir)
Timing (5-10 days after exposure most likely)
Thrombosis (confirmed, suspected, none)
Thrombocytopenia - other causes (none/possible/definite)
Treatment of HITS?
Cease heparin anticoagulant
Start non heparin anticoagulant
Continue for 4 weeks if no thrombosis, or three months if has had thrombosis
