Increased world interconnectedness including people, culture, ideas and technology.

What is high culture?

A

Refers to the elite culture as intellectual achievers.

  • can be expressed by paintings, opera, ballet and classical music.
  • until now, this used to be un-accessible.

A

Refers to the traditions of a society including; rituals (festivals, folk singing, etc).

  • this is regarded as authentic as it reflects everyday life of local communities.

Refers to the products of mass media =

  • mass media can be seen to integrate high with folk culture by allowing access (books, youtube, etc).

A
