1
Q

Trachea (Windpipe)

A

It’s about 4 inches long and at the end of it, it splits into 2 smaller tubes called “bronchi”, 1 bronchus for each lung

2
Q

Bronchus

A

The airway in the respiratory (gas exchange) tract that ‘moves’ air into the lungs. The bronchus will split into bronchioles like tree branches

3
Q

Bronhiole

A

The bronchioles deliver air to tiny sacs called alveoli where oxygen and CO2 are exchanged. They’re air passages that pass off from the bronchi like tree branches

4
Q

How are Aveoli designed well

A

They allow gas to pass through them. They get the maximum amount of oxygen into the blood. They’re the size of a tennis court when cut in half and spread out. They have to dissolve gas

5
Q

Cappilaries

A

The capillaries connected to the alveoli are extremely thin, and used to transfer CO2 into the lungs to get rid from the body, and to collect oxygen from inside the lungs to take to other parts of the body
