Detailed study of the -800 fuel panel
FUEL PANEL
SPAR VALVE/ENG VALVE CLOSED lights (blue)
Describe light operation
Controlled by start lever or fire handle
engine start - goes bright to out
spar valve mounted on wing spar
engine valve located on engine
spar valve has backup nicad battery so always has power to close
FUEL PANEL
SPAR VALVE/ENG VALVE CLOSED lights (blue)
Bright blue
related spar or engine fuel valve in transit
OR
valve position and engine start lever or engine fire handle disagree
FUEL PANEL (external)
Opening door
actuates fueling power control relay (28v DC hot batt bus)
FUEL PANEL (external)
VALVE POSITION LIGHTS
illuminated
solenoid is energized does NOT mean valve is open
FUEL PANEL
Center tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE lights (amber)
illuminated
fuel pump output pressure is low with pump switch ON <22psi
FUEL PANEL
SPAR VALVE/ENG VALVE CLOSED lights (blue)
Extinguished
Related spar or engine fuel valve open
FUEL PANEL
SPAR VALVE/ENG VALVE CLOSED lights (blue)
Dim blue
related spar or engine fuel valve closed
FUEL PANEL (external)
Fueling with no AC or DC power
press and hold red solenoid override button for desired tank. Releasing button allows the spring in valve to close valve.
DO NOT OVERFILL - no automatic fuel shut-off
FUEL PANEL
Main tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE lights (amber)
illuminated 1 or 2
fuel pump output pressure is low or pump switch is off <6psi
two LOW PRESSURE lights in same tank illuminated lights MC FUEL
one LOW PRESSURE light illuminated lights MC FUEL on RECALL
FUEL PANEL
CROSSFEED VALVE OPEN light (blue)
Describe light dim/bright/out
out- valve closed
bright blue- in transit position or valve selector and valve position disagree
dim blue- crossfeed valve open
FUEL PANEL
FILTER BYPASS lights (amber)
Illuminated and under what conditions
indicates impending fuel filter bypass due to contaminated filter
light illuminates at 11.5psi
bypass valve operates at 15psi
