Q

What are the indications of a dual FMC failure?

A

The MENU page will appear on both CDUs & VTK will appear on both navigation displays.

17
Q

Define Actual Navigation Performance (ANP) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP)

A

Actual navigation performance (ANP) is the FMC’s estimate of the quality of its position determination.

RNP is the required performance depending on the environment.

18
Q

When does LNAV engage, regardless of heading?

A

Within 3 nm of the route leg.

19
Q

The descent path starts at the calculated top of descent (T/D) point and includes waypoint altitude restrictions. The path is based on what parameters?

A

Descent path calculation projects upward from the end of descent (E/D) point to the cruise altitude. The FMC calculates a descent path based on airspeed restrictions, altitude restrictions and the E/D point.

20
Q

When does VNAV PTH descent automatically revert to VNAV SPD?

A

Limit Speed Reversion, Path Diversion or No “TO” Waypoint.

21
Q

AT28R, BT28R, and CT28R are waypoints from what type of FMC procedure?

A

EO SID waypoints.

22
Q

When will BYPASS appear between two waypoints on the legs page?

A

If it is impossible for the aircraft to turn and capture a leg between two waypoints a bypass will be created.
