A

Multi-function spoilerons. They move in conjunction at low speeds for greater roll response.

What does the ROLL DISCONNECT do?

A
  • Isolated the left control wheel and associated cable system from the right aileron system
  • Separates the control wheel interconnect tube and advised the SECU’s (200) and SSCU’s (7/900) that the tube has been disconnected
  • Single side roll control is then available

A
  • Improve directional stability and turn coordination
  • Damping out yaw oscillations “Dutch roll” tendency is controlled
  • If both fail the autopilot will disconnect (AP only needs 1 to operate)

  • Provides reduces pitch control (one elevator only) in the operable control surface
  • A jam tolerant mechanism on each elevator PCU allows 2 operating PCU’s to overpower a jammed one
