What is Flammable Liquid?

For this section, any liquid that requires foam to extinguish

What is Flashpoint?

Lowest Temperature at which a flame can propagate in the vapour above the liquid

What is Firepoint?

Higher temperature than flashpoint, the temperature at which vapour continues to burn after being ignited

What is Flashback?

Re-ignition of a flammable liquid caused by exposure of vapour to source of ignition

What is a boil over?

hot oil sinks and if it then meets water then superheated steam is created. This steam explosion and send burning oil and vapour to a height 10 times greater than the tank diameter
