  • Interview family
    • Others around patient are concerned with eating disorder more than the patient is concerned
  • Ask about associated symptoms (hair loss, hypothermia)
  • Ask how they have lost the weight
  • Ask age of onset (ages 16-22)

  • Avoidance of food due to chronic illness
    • Crohn’s disease lady
  • Eating certain “safe foods” to eliminate anxiety
    • Hard boiled egg/salmon lady
    • Light colored food lady
  • Various Phobias
    • Fear of choking/vomiting people
