A

Why can the landing gear be considered down and locked if only one system indicates 3 green lights and the other indicates 1 or more red lights?

A

Because the 2 landing gear position indicating systems are completely independent of each other.

Why is it not possible to retract the landing gear on ground during normal operation?

A

Because as long as at least 1 gear shock absorber detects WOW the landing gear can not be retracted.

The red light in the landing gear control lever comes on red and the FWS is activated. What does that mean?

A

Any one of the landing gears is not sensed down and locked even though the landing gear selector is selected to the down position.

There are 2 independent landing gear position indication systems. What are the called, what manages them and where are they located?

A

They are called the primary- and secondary system. The primary system is managed by MFC 1 and is located on the main instrument panel. The secondary system is managed by MFC 2 and is located on the overhead panel.

A

Yes, through differential braking and/or differential thrust.

A

A

Either through the brake pedals using the normal brake system supplied by the green hydraulic system, or through the emergency and parking brake handle supplied by the blue hydraulic system.

The antiskid system operates as soon as the gear is down and locked and when the aircraft speed is above 10 kt. The system does however has two protection systems. How do they work?

A

There is a locked wheel protection system which compares the speed of both the inboard and outboard pair of wheels. In case of wheel lock the brake pressure is released. Secondly there is a touchdown protection system which inhibits braking as long as wheel speed is below 35 kt. or 5 seconds during landing.

During walk around You find there are scratches on the tail bumper, but not on the red indicator. Can the aircraft be dispatched?

A

Yes, as long as the red indicator does not show signs of wear the aircraft can be dispatched.
