Some opacity in the lens

4
Q

How do you treat lens luxation?

A

Remove the lens

  • Incise into the cornea into the sclera

Hypopyon
Miosis
Posterior synechiae

Q

What structures make up the uvea?

A

Iris, ciliary body, choroid

11
Q

What is synechiae?

A

The iris adheres to the caudal surface of the cornea (anterior) or anterior surface of the lens (posterior)

12

US –> place on upper eye lid for viewing

13
Q

How do you treat ERU

A

Analgesics (Phenylbutazone)

Mydriatics (atropine and dark stall)

Topical steroids

Surgery (vitrectomy - remove inflammatory products out of the vitreous, wear brown gloves that are thinner and reflect light less) Vitreous cutter has a tiny spinning blade that cuts up the inflammatory products and sucks them out

Cyclosporine-filled capsules can be surgically placed into the sclera
