2
Q

What did Center and Kemp find?

A

Center & Kemp (2002) found a relationship between antisocial behaviour and psychoticism in a sample of 11 delinquents.

3
Q

Evaluate in terms of outdated.

A

Personality theories have been regarded as outdated as an explanation of antisocial behaviour because findings of studies have been inconsistent.

4
Q

Evaluate in terms of application to real life??

A

Many traits of criminal behaviour are detectable in childhood and therefore it may be possible to modify the socialization experiences of high-risk individuals so that they do not develop into offenders. This could lead to interventions based on parenting or early treatment for delinquency and hence may be of great practical benefit in reducing criminal behaviour.

5
Q

Evaluate in terms of generalisability.

A

There is also the issue that research has made heavy use of comparisons between convicted offenders and the general population. Such research inevitably excludes those who commit crimes and are not caught and convicted. Consequently, many of these studies may only be telling us about the personality characteristics of ‘unsuccessful’ offenders.
