What filing code do you select for a Proposed Order?

A

None, if the filer submitted it as a Proposed Order; Proposed Order if the filer submitted it as any other document type.

What does the Accept Filing button do?

A

Adds the event to the Odyssey CCS and drops the document into the Daily queue.

If you see a summons is being filed, what stamps do you use and why?

A

Date, clerk and seal stamps. Once you accept a filing, it is returned to the filer for service.

What do you do if you have a writ being submitted?

A

Open the cause in Odyssey and verify that an order granting the writ was issued.

What do you do if three pleadings - a Motion for Writ, a Proposed Order for Writ and the Writ - are all submitted at once?

A

Select the correct code and accept the Motion for Writ.

Accept the Proposed Order. Delete the automatic file stamp, select Proposed Notice code and accept the Writ.

What should you do when a Praecipe for Sheriff’s Sale is filed?

A

Forward to New Civil Filings.

Once an envelope is opened, what do you do to “work” the envelope?

A

Click the Edit button to select the correct Filing Code.

What do you do if you have a 1 of 2, 2 of 2 filing?

A

In File & Serve, choose the correct code for the 1 of 2 event, add “1 of 2” to the end of the description, then, add the 2 of 2 event on Odyssey. Relate the document to the 2 of 2 event once it drops into Odyssey.

What do you do when an Appearance is filed?

A

Click Edit to verify that the attorney has added themselves to the party. If they have not, use the drop down list to add all attorneys listed on the Appearance.

What common document types do not need to be changed before accepting?

A

Appearance, Summons/Subpoena, Proposed Order, Proposed Notice, Certificate of Issuance of Summons, Complaint/Equivalent Pleading, Notice of Exclusion of Confidential Information

What do you do when a Praecipe for Publication is filed?

A

Add a date, clerk and seal stamp to the Notice of Suit, change the Filing Codes appropriately, and accept the filings.

Once you have accepted all envelopes in your e-filing queue, what should you do?

A

Relate the proposed orders and/or supporting documents envelopes to the motion envelope then complete the now related proposed orders and/or supporting documents envelopes in Odyssey Daily queue.

What do you do with returned service?

A

Select Service Returned Served (or Not Served) filing code and add the served party to the end of the description.

What does it mean when you see a lock icon instead of the “play” icon to the right of an envelope?

A

The envelope is locked by another user and cannot be opened by anyone else.

How do you change which court’s e-filing queue is showing?

A

In Review Queue, use the left-most drop down and click Filter to change which court’s envelopes you are viewing.

If the proposed order came with a motion, what needs to be done?

A

The proposed order needs to be related to the motion in the Odyssey Daily queue.

When can the clerk reject an envelope?

A

If a statutory fee is missing or a technical glitch prevents the system from accepting the document.

What needs to be done when a Satisfaction of Judgment is e-filed without a Proposed Order?

A

The judgment needs to be satisfied on the Disposition Tab in Odyssey.

If an order to substitute a party is granted, what needs to be done?

A

The party needs to be entered on the Parties Tab in Odyssey.

If a filer submits a document as a Proposed document type, but it should have a file stamp, can you add a file stamp?

A

No, the file stamp is automatically added according to the document type chosen by the filer. The clerk can remove a file stamp that should not be added but cannot add a file stamp that is missing.
