-Third year reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah



-Nebuchadnezzar ordered Ashpenaz to go bring three able men from Israel to be brought into his service
-Men chosen were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah (Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego)
-v11-16 they did not eat the royal food, instead only vegetables, and were much healthier at the end of the day
-They were given knowledge and understanding of all kinds/Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds
-All four were invited into the kings service (v18-20)



-The king is troubled by his dreams, and cannot sleep, threatens his astrologers to get the servants to interpret the dreams.
-Astrologers tell king that what he is asking is not possible (v11), king ordered all wise men of Babylon to be executed
-v20-23 Daniel praises God for making the dream known to him
-Daniel interprets the dream for Belshazzar
-Daniel explains to Nebuchadnezzar that he will be king of kings on earth, however God will soon set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor left to another people. (v39-44)
-Nebuchadnezzar begs to offer Daniel incense, admits God must be god of gods. (v46-47)
-Daniel was at the royal court, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were appointed administrators over the province of Babylon (48-49)



-Nebuchadnezzar sets up sixty foot statue for all the people of Babylon to worship at the commands of a horn, whoever does not will be thrown into the blazing furnace
-Astrologers inform the king that shadrach, meshach, and abednego will not bow to the statue (v8-15)
-They inform the king that God would protect them even in the burning furnace (v16-18)
-The three are thrown into the furnace, and the fire was so hot it even killed the men who threw them in (v19-23)
-Nebuchadnezzar sees the three men in there unharmed, and the a fourth man who looked like a son of the gods (v24-26)
-Nebuchadnezzar praised the God of the three men; acknowledged there willingness to give up their lives rather than serve another God, and promoted them in the province of Babylon



-Nebuchadnezzar has a dream about a tree that made him afraid; he explains it (v4-16)
-Belteshazzar explains that the dream applies to him, he is a tree that has become great and strong
-Informs him that he must cut down all the branches, but leave the stump, and acknowledge that God is the most high and sovereign over all the earth. (v25-27)
-Nebuchadnezzar is told from heaven that he will have his royal authority taken away from him, and this was fulfilled (v30-33)
-Nebuchadnezzar raised his eyes towards heaven and his sanity was restored, he praises God (v34-37)



-King Belshazzar holds a great banquet, at this banquet, they were praising gods of gold,silver, and bronze. (v1-4)
-A hand appeared and started writing on the plaster of the wall. The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers, and diviners to decipher what was being said. (v5-7)
-The queen comes in and says that Daniel could interpret what was being said here (v10-12)
-Daniel is asked to interpret the dream, and says he will but he does not need the gifts (v13-17)
-Daniel explained that Nebuchadnezzar had to humble himself, and Belshazzar has not done this yet. And he was honoring gods of gold rather than the most high.
-Daniel was clothed in purple for his interpretation of the dream that said Belshazzar's days in reign were numbered. (v22-29)
-Belshazzar was slain that night, and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom (v30)



-The satraps tried to find a way to press charges against Daniel, however they found this could not be done unless it had something to do with the law of his God (v1-5)
-The satraps went to King Darius and said that anyone who doesn't bow down to him should be thrown into the lions den (v6-9)
-Inspite of this law, Daniel still went to his window and prayed publically 3 times a day. Satraps confront Daniel about this (v10-12)
-king was making every effort to save Daniel from being thrown into the lions den (v13-15)
-Daniel was thrown into the lions den, but the king wishes that Daniel's God will save him
-Rock is rolled over the mouth of the den, the king does not sleep, as he is troubled. The next morning king returns to find Daniel unharmed (v16-22)
-The men who accused daniel were thrown into the den and devoured instantly (v23)
-King Darius decrees that everyone shall worship the God of Daniel(v25-27)
-(v28)Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius, and Cyrus



-V1-14 Daniel describes his dream of the four beasts, the authority had been taken away from them, but they were still on earth. A kingdom was seen that would never be destroyed
-Daniel had the dream interpreted, as it troubled him greatly (v15-16)
-The four beasts represented four kings that will rise from the earth (v17-18)
-Fourth beast was different, will have his power taken away from him in the end (v23-25)
-Then the most High will rule the everlasting kingdom and all rulers will worship and obey him (v26-27)
-Daniel decides to keep this matter to himself (v28)



-Daniel explains his vision of the ram and the goat; the ram was powerful, no animal could stand against it (v1-5)
-The goat attacks the ram in great rage
-The goat became great, but its horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up towards the four winds of heaven (v6-8)
-Daniel is confronted by Gabriel, and daniel had heard a voice saying to Gabriel to "tell the man the meaning of this vision" Daniel is raised form his sleep. This vision is concerning the end times (v15-18)
-Vision is interpreted; Ram is the Kings of Media and Persia
-The goat is the king of Greece, and the four horns that emerged represent the four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation (v19-22)
-During this reign, a a master of intrigue will rise as king, but will later be destroyed not by human but by a higher power (v23-25)
-Gabriel tells Daniel to seal up these visions as they are for the distant future (v26)
-Daniel was appalled and exhausted, as this vision was far beyond his understanding (v27)



-Daniel turns to the Lord in prayer with prayer, fasting, and petition as he was under the impression that the desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years (v1-3)
-Daniel prays to God confessing their unfaithfulness in Jerusalem and Israel (v4-19)
-Gabriel approaches Daniel again to give him understanding; the vision of the seventy sevens (v20-24)
-Gabriel explains the seventy sevens will lead to the end (v25-27)



-In third year of reign of Cyrus, Daniel is given a vision concerning a great war, and then he is troubled, and fasts for three weeks (v1-3)
-Daniel is terrified by the vision, and falls on the ground pale, and then a voice picks him up so he can pay attention to the vision (v4-11)
-Daniel is told he is seeing this because of his humility, these are visions of events to take place (v12-14)
-The Lord gives Daniel strength, Daniel is humbled. Informs him he is about to battle the prince of Persia; Michael is the only one supported him. (v15-21)



-First year of Darius the Mede, Daniel takes a stand, explains the vision of the four kings (v1-35)
-The King who exalts himself (v36-45)



-Prince Michael will arise, the deliverance of the people in the book of life. The scroll is to be rolled until the end of time (v1-4)
-One man asks the man clothed in linen; "when will this be fulfilled?" He replies "when The Holy People have finally been broken" Daniel heard this and did not understand (v5-8)
-Man in linen tells Daniel, the words are already sealed, and the wicked will continue to be wicked, and the wise will understand (v9-10)
-Explanation of the 1335 days of desolation; Daniel is told to go his way until the end, and soon he will receive his allotted inheritance (v11-13)
