1
Q

Compare in terms of the role of the environment.

A

Both SLT and personality theory do acknowledge the role that environment plays in explaining antisocial behaviour although personality theory also acknowledges the importance of internal factors too.

2
Q

Compare in terms of nature/nurture.

A

SLT is about nurture whereas personality theory suggests that the personality traits associated with criminal behaviour are genetic (nature).

3
Q

Compare in terms of arousal.

A

SLT considers the antisocial role models as a large influence through modelling their behaviour compared to the arousal of the nervous system leading to criminal behaviour as stimulation seeking.

4
Q

Compare in terms of learning/genetics?

A

SLT is an alternative explanation of antisocial behaviour using reinforcement to explain repeated antisocial behaviour therefore highlighting the importance of learning experience rather than genetics.
