communication devices

any type of hardware capable of transmitting data, instructions, and information between a sending device.

one type of communications device that connects a communications channel to a sending or receiving device such as a computer is a modem

modem "modulator-demodulator"

a hardware device that converts data from a digital format, intended for communication directly between devices with specialised wiring, into one suitable fir a transmission medium such as telephone lines or radio

a modern modulates one or more carrier wave signals to encode digital information for transmission, and demodulates signals to decode the transmitted information.

the goal is to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded reliably to reproduce the original digital data

a cabled system for connecting a number of computer systems to form a local area network, with protocols to control the passing of information and to avoid simultaneous transmission by two or more systems.

wireless technology standard used for exchanging data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances using short - wavelength UHF radio waves in the industrial, scientific and medical radio bands,
from 2.402 GHz to 2.480 GHz, and building personal area networks (PANs)

originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data cables

wireless communication

electromagnetic transfer of information between 2 or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor.

most common wireless technologies use radio waves. with radio waves intends distances can be short, such as a few meters for bluetooth or as far as millions of kilometers for deep space radio communications.

encompasses various types of fixed, mobile and portable applications including two way radios, cellar telephones, personal Digital assistants ad wireless networking.

less common methods of achieving wireless communications include the use of other electromagnetic wireless technologies, such as light, magnetic, or electric fields or the use of sound.

in electronics, a remote control or clicker is an electronic devices used to operate another device from a distance, usually wirelessly.

a remote control is primarily a connivence feature for the user, allows operation of devices that are out of convenient reach for direct operation of controls

some cases remote controls allows a person to operate a device that they otherwise would not be able to reach.

a standard high-performance serial bus for connecting digital devices together or to a computer. "a firewall port"

USB "universal serial bus"

industry standard that establishes specifications for cables and connectors and protocols for connection, communication and power supply (interfacing) between computers, peripherals and other computers

a broad variety of usb hardware exists including several different connectors of which USB-C is most recent
