1
Q

For wet rwys can you use derate, ATM or both?

A

Derate, ATM or both is allowed

2
Q

For runways contaminated with Slush, snow, standing water, ice are you allowed to reduce thrust? Which method is allowed? Derate, ATM, both non of them?

A

Derate only.

3
Q

How much standing water can be on a rwy before takeoff is not recommended? (in mm)

A

13mm

4
Q

How much dry snow can be on a rwy before takeoff is not recommended? (in mm)

A

102mm

5
Q

When does icing conditions exsist?

A
  • Below 10deg
  • With visible moisture (fog, vis <1600m, rain, snow sleet)
  • Ice, snow, slush, or standing water is present on ramp, taxiway or rwy
6
Q

What is the max thickeness of frost under wing due to cold water fuel allowe for takeoff?

A

3mm

7
Q

How long can the airplane be parked in temprature below -30deg celsius before MX need to do heating of the engine?

A

4hrs.

8
Q

When starting engines when shall NAI be turned on if there is icing conditions?

A

NAI shall be turned on after ALL engines have started.

9
Q

If there is snow or ice on the wings and you need deice anti ice? what changes in taxi procedure?

A

Delay flight control check until after deice/ antiice.

10
Q

When would you taxi with flaps up until approaching runway?

A

When taxing through ICE, SNOW, SLUSH, Standing water or precitpitation whent temperature below freezing.

11
Q

When do you need to do a run-up of engines to 60%N1 ?

A

Temp below 3 and NAI required.

12
Q

When deicing how long after deicing is complete until you can turn on pack selectors?

A

1min

13
Q

Which engine has the static run-up procedure of 60%N1 for 30sec prior starting the takeoff roll?

A

GE

14
Q

Which engine has the static run-up procedure of minimum 50%N1 for 1 sec and confirm stable engine operation prior starting the takeoff roll?

A

P&W

15
Q

When there is moderate to severe icing conditions what can you do if FAN icing is suspected due to engine vibrations?

A

Every 10 min, on one engine at the time, increase thrust to 70%N1 for 10-30sec.

16
Q

What is a good indicator if the need to put on WAI?

A

ice accumelation on flight deck window frames.

17
Q

When do you apply temperature correction?

A

temp reported below 0deg.

18
Q

What needs to be corrected of altitude/levels when temperature is below 0deg?

A

all minimum altitudes: dep, enroute, arrival, approach, missed approach, MDA, DA.

19
Q

When do you NOT need temp correction?

A

when on: Flight level(STD), ATC radar vectors, when temp is above 0 deg at airport.

20
Q

How much temp correction do you need for 1000ft height above refrence source at -10deg?

A

100ft.

21
Q

How much temp correction do you need for 500ft height above refrence source at -10deg?

A

50ft

22
Q

How much temp correction do you need for 4000ft height above refrence source at -10deg?

A

390ft rounded up to 400ft

23
Q

How do you calculate height above altitued refrence source?

A

Published minimum altitude on chart in feet minus airport elevation.
Example:
Minimum altitude 6000ft
airport elevation 1400ft
Hight above reference source 4400ft
temperature correction at -10deg= 440ft
You will select 6000+500=6500 on MCP and advice ATC you are applying temperature corrections.

24
Q

How will ATC know your applying?

A

You have to Advise ATC your applying temperature corrections.

25
Q

After landing what do you need to do if you have operated for a prolonged period in icing conditions?

A

Keep the flaps at 25 or 30 until flap area have been check to be free of contamination.

26
Q

When do you turn of NAI after landing if NAI is requried?

A

Just before before engines shutdown.

27
Q

Approach

A
Stay on FD or rate of descend until 50ft
40
