What were the Australian Freedom riders

A

The freedom riders were led by a man called Charles Perkins, he took a bus into parts of NSW were racist attitudes were most prominent.

The students that were part of the freedom riders were mostly non aboriginal and had been involved in protests

They got attacked from locals

The 1967 referendum

A

Australians voted in favour of changes to the Australian Constitution to improve the services available to Indigenous Australians. This helped reduce discrimination against Aborigines.
