How do churches help Catholics worship?

A

Provide a space to worship as a community during mass

Provide a peaceful place for individual worship (small side chapels)

A

It reminds us of the fact that Jesus’ suffered so that we can be redeemed.

A

It encourages them to follow the examples of the statues - guiding them towards redemption

Built facing Jerusalem (where Jesus died and rose again)

The altar is now at the centre of the church so all can see and join in with the mass
There are seats around the altar
