What are the different types of letters?

A

The letters don’t require much research but the quantity of information will depend on the purpose.

  • information report letter: requires more research and uses the most important info
  • progress report letter: obtain info that fits the needs of the reader
  • evaluation report letter: detailed, and balances information on products equally
  • incident report letter: only details of the incident
  • expense report letter: to the point, little info

A

It is direct format.

A

It is indirect format and cushions the blow to minimize negative reactions.
- opening with good news
- background
- bad news in neutral tone
- positive news to cheer up
- sign off with an apology
It may not solve the issue but a noticeable effort was made.
