  • idea the internet is “open” and all internet sites and content should be treated equal
  • under NN ISP’s cannot charge fees to access any specific websites or slow down the speeds for sites that use lots of data
  • earlier this year, FCC took steps to roll back NN, allow ISP’s to charge for or restrict access
  • some sites are now fighting the FCC ruling on state and federal level
