Are logical, sequential, and focused.
Female communication styles
Tend to see the big picture and seek solutions based on what makes people comfortable.
More comfortable asking questions.
How to avoid informal communications (aka the grapevine)
1. Provide facts
2. Communicate Face to Face
3. When there are rumors.. hold a meeting to clarify
4. Don't spread rumors.
5. Enlist support of respected leaders to spread truth
6. Address issues immediately
7. Write clearly and accurately
One way to communicate effectively in writing?
Use the KISS principle. Keep It Short and Simple

2. Practice makes perfect

A "self-server" is
Someone that feels the rules of the group do not apply to them. Show up late, little participation.
A "critical conservative" is
Someone who has criticism for any suggestion other than their own. Obsessively negative and fearful of changes.
A "motor mouth" is
Someone who talks just to hear themselves talk. Interrupt others and want to be center of attention.. keep a cloth gag nearby
A "mouse" is
The silent observer who is fearful of voicing an opinion. These people are some of the best observers and listeners-ask them for input.
Passive or avoidant behavior
Dont stand up for themselves, have difficulty asking for help
person puts his or her needs and feelings first and communicates that in an angry, dominating way. Likes to put people down
stands up for themselves in a way that does not violate other people. Shows respect for others feelings. Be Assertive!
