A
  • Referred to as reduction division.
  • This division results in 4 haploid cells.
  • These cells are used in sexual reproduction and are called gametes.​​ ​​
  • Cuts the number of chromosomes in half by separating homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell.
  • Homologous chromosomes are chromosomes that code for the same things but one is from mom and one is from dad.
  • A pair of homologous chromosomes make a tetrad.
    Contains 4 chromatids​
