  • 1952 -hydrogen bomb USA. USSR produce one a year after.
  • 1957 -ICBM developed by USSR, which could reach the USA from the firing point in USSR. USA responded with that own one in Turkey
  • 1958 -sputnik launched by USSR, a few months later the USA launched their own.
