Easy way remember systolic and diastolic murmurs….

A

MR AsTrPS Sounds like Mr. Aster, PS

Systole = MR AS TR PS
Diastole =MS AR TS PR (exact opposite)

Apex (Apical) = Mitral (R sternal border, 2 ICS)
Base = Aortic (5th ICS, mid clavicular line)

EKG with Pulm Emboli?

A

Sinus Tachycardia, with marked Right Heart Strain and dilation. Classic: S1Q3T3 pattern of changes associated with pulmonary embolism.

Prizmental Angina?

A

Coronary artery spasm with ST segment elevation. Usually occurs at rest and at the same time each day. Females with Raynauds and Migraine cephalgia associated with this. Usually normal coronary arteries
