1
Q

What is a Hematoma Formation?

A

A large clot forms to stop bleeding.

2
Q

Fibroblasts create collagen fibers and blood vessels grow into the hematoma. Osteoblasts and osteoclasts move into the hematoma from the endosteum and
periosteum. What is this called?

A

Granulation Tissue Formation

3
Q

Callus Formation in broken bones.

A

a. A Soft Callus forms which includes the Internal Callus (between broken bone pieces)
and External Callus (bridging surface of break) areas.

b. The Soft Callus becomes the Hard (Bony) Callus as it is turned into spongy bone.

4
Q

What is a soft callus?

A

Granulation tissue and “generic” cartilage aka. fibro cartilaginous callus

5
Q

What does callus formation do?

A

Binds/holds bones bone/pieces stabilize.

6
Q

What is remodeling?

A

Restructuring of bone continues; compact bone replaces spongy bone where
appropriate.
