A

A

A walk of 2000 metres before sunrise
During summer: Drink more, eat less
During winter: Eat more, drink less
Recommend washing of face with water everyday

What was believed to cause illness (other then god etc)

A

The four humours being out of balance, too much blood, too much bile etc.

Who took charge of remedies in households? (rich and poor)

A

In common households mothers would take on the role of healer. They would use herbal remedies made from plants. In a richer family, the father (because he can read because richer) would look through a tome for a cure, much like a doctor.

What did galen discover?

A

That the brain controls the body, not the heart. He did this through cutting a pigs spine, and noting that it stopped struggling because of the cut nerves.
He was also the first person to draw detailed human anatomy’s.

What were some of galen’s errors?

A

A cow had a empty space in its brain, so he assumed this was where the soul resided (this made the church happy).
Jaw the same as a cats (opens in two ways)
Many other things based off of animals.

A

The church enforced GabeN’s four humours and It was now illegal under the church to dissect bodies.
