Double glazed windows Insulation Expanding foam Tin foil behind radiators Carpet Curtains
Ways that heat gets out or into other objects
- conduction (physically touching)
- convection (heat rises, and falls when its cold)
- radiation. (Disperses in all directions)
Non renewable energy sources
Coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power plants
Renewable energy sources
Wind Solar Geothermal Wave Tidal Biomass HEP
How coal, natural gas and oil give us energy
This is done by the coal (or whatevet from above) being combusted the heat energy this creates heat up nd boils water in which turns to steam. This high pressure steam rises and turns a generator and this generator turns a turbine which then creates the electrical energy.
Ads of non renewable energy.
Gives off a lot of energy
Cheap
Easy
Free to collect from earth
Disads to non renewable energy
Gives off co2 which does the greenhouse effect.
Other gases it gives off could cause acid rain
Not renewable.
Nuclear power ads and disads
Lots of power !!!!
High cost to set up
Waste is radioactive
Non renewable.
Solar energy
Uses solar panels
Can be unreliable
Renewable
Wind energy
Wind turbine turns generator
Unreliable
Costly to set up
Renewable
Tidal energy
Water turbines when tide comes in and out they turn Only occurs twice a day Reliable Costly to set up Renewable
Biomass
Burn all you can find natural and use that as coal
Renewable
Cheap to set up
But have to find materials
Geothermal
Water goes far underground then comes up steam amid turns turbines
Reliable
Renewable
Difficult to execute
HEP
Water falls down tubes and turns turbines.
Renewable
Reliable
Have to have a damm
