  • close contact causes disease and infection spread, particularly in shelters
  • undernourishment makes this worse
  • rural areas - hospital is a 3 hour walk through mountains
  • medicine needs payment
  • if meds run out, patients can develop Multi-Drug Resistance and need specialist treatment in Kathmandu
